Margarita Monday

frozen-margarita-recipe1After a full morning of chores, Mr and I celebrated Presidents’ Day by reading, lounging with our dogs, and slurping on frozen Margaritas in the backyard.  It was such a gorgeous day!

Yes, that’s a Red Solo Cup 🙂

We took the super easy, “buy the mixer from the store” approach. Jose Cuervo has a really tasty low-cal mix that we like. But for those wanting to make from scratch, I found this recipe on the Sensational Cocktail Recipes website.

Frozen Margarita Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 ounce triple sec
  • 1 ounce tequila
  • 1 t. of freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1 ½ cups of crushed ice
  • Citrus wedges for garnishing like lemons, oranges and limes.

Directions:

You need to mix all the ingredients together in a blender. You can add more or less ice for the desired thickness of the Margarita drink. You also have the option on serving the mixture on the rocks in case you do not have a blender at hand.

Simpler Version – A Full Pitcher:

Ingredients:

  • 12 ounces tequila
  • 1 can frozen limeade concentrate
  • ¼ cup triple sec
  • 8 cups ice
  • Citrus wedges for garnishing like lemons, oranges and limes.

Directions:

You need to mix all the ingredients together in a blender. You can add more or less ice for the desired thickness of the Margarita drink.
